Gotcha Day || Homeschool

One reason why I love summer is because we get to do things that we normally wouldn't do otherwise.. like taking a photography class from a professional (it was so much fun and challenging!), kite flying, and fishing (my brother goes fishing all the time, but just now I decided to come along...see that second-to-last picture? Yep, that's the monster I caught! lol!).

We also got to celebrate Lexi's (my dog's) Gotcha Day (The day we got her from the pet store)! A year ago on July 23, we walked into the pet store, because my dad and I begged mom to let us ;), and saw Lexi in the last-change animal rescue. We fell in love with her! We ended up buying her that day (which happened to be the day after we moved into our house!). I made a banner to celebrate and my mom and I made homemade dog treats. ;) We also made human treats, too, which were no-bake nutella and oatmeal cookies! They were amazing!

My dad got us a swing! He tied it to a branch on the tree in our front yard, and it is so much fun! Roby and I love running outside barefoot and jumping on. ;) I look forward to when it snows in the winter, because I think it will be awesome swinging while it snows!

Aannd... now for the most exciting part of all! I have been stressing for quite some time about starting middle school (7th grade), and I have been praying about it for a while, too. Well, a few days ago God answered my prayers, and my mom and dad told me that my brother and I are going to be homeschooled! I am really looking forward it! I have been homeschooled before; for 5th grade. It will be especially nice in the winter, because when everyone is at school, I will be in my warm, cozy bed! ;D
P.S. I have been reading like crazy for our trip! I have gotten up to 13 and a half hours, which means I get $13. 50!

When The Cousins Came To Visit || Summer Reading

Over the weekend, my Aunt Amy and Uncle Aaron came to visit along with my cousins Oliver, Markus, and Gideon. Their visit was filled with frequent trips to the park, sleepovers, messy breakfasts, a trip to the swimming pool and the river!
Playing hide-and-seek tag!

We were all running out of places to hide, so we crammed into one of those tunnel things.....
and took a selfie.

Messy breakfast the next morning...

Roby's homemade swing he made with an old skateboard and a rope he found. (Very resourceful!!)
We went thrift-shopping and got Jenga along with some other random stuff, and I got the book,
Nancy Drew: The Bungalow Mystery.

Swimming at the river!
Uncle Aaron, Gideon, me, and Roby!
Roby made a boogie-board out of a piece of Styrofoam that washed up on the shore. (Did I mention very resourceful??)
Gideon loved the water! He was being so cute!
Then he started doing this...

Guess what?? We are going to New York! Roby and I wanted to earn some extra money for it, so my mom agreed to give us a dollar for every hour we read! So now, Roby and I are reading hours a day. We are so excited!

Interview With Maddy

I recently got to interview Maddy from Maddy's Digital Diary! I had so much fun asking her questions and answering the questions she asked me!

Why did you start blogging?
My mom and sister both had a blog and wanted me to start one as well. I didn't really want to at first but I love it now. :)

How did you come up with your blog name?
My mom looked at good photography blog names and "Digital Diary" came up and I like
it a lot!

What are your favorite activities?
My favorite is dancing. I also like playing baseball, basketball, and soccer with my siblings.

Who is your inspiration?
 Jesus is definitely my inspiration.

What would you prefer--camping or staying in a hotel?
Um... That's a hard one. Recently, I got to stay in a hotel with a bunch of my friends and it was a ton  of fun! Also, I got to go camping with my family which I loved! I guess that it just depends
on my mood. I really like both. :)

Skirts or dresses?
I have to say skirts. I wear skirts everyday unless we are going somewhere fancy, then I wear a dress.

What is one thing most people don't know about you?
That I have a huge fear of birds but we somehow have 11 birds in our house!

Favorite book?
The Gabby Douglas story is my favorite. If you don't know her, then she won the Olimpics in 2012. :)   I did gymnastics at the time and got that book. Even though I don't do gymnastics anymore,
I still love that book! I Dare To Call Him Father was also one of my favorites.

How do you see yourself in 20 years?
Oh my! That's hard. Let me think... I guess that I never really think about that because
I really don't know where I'll be in 20 years. I try not to think about where I'll be in the future. I just enjoy life as it is now. :)

Describe your bedroom.
Messy!! Haha, I'm joking ;) sort of. I share my room with my 15 and 9 year old sister. Soon to be
two more sisters! It's a tan room with one normal bed and one bunk bed. ( I sleep on the top bunk bed ) We each kind of have our own decorations that we like so it doesn't match a ton.
It's a big room though and it's fun sharing it.

How long does it take to complete a blog button?
Normally about 20 minutes.

Where did you get the idea to sell blog buttons?
I always thought that they were fun to make and also a good way to raise
some money. I'm really enjoying it! Email me if your interested at maddycrone :)

What are your favorite things to do in the summertime?
Going to the beach, hanging outside, taking pictures, going to dance,
getting to eat ice-cream and other cold treats on warm days, and getting to wath my little siblings play in the sprinklers.
Thank you so much for having me, Abi!

Thanks, Maddy for letting me interview you! I love your answers. ;)
We swapped interviews, so you can view my answers to her questions on her blog.
What was your favorite answer?
Do you want to be interviewed?

4th Of July || The Curse Of The Evil Pigman

For the Fourth of July, my family and I went on a trip to New York to visit family! When we first got there, we stayed at my Aunt Joanne's house. She has an adorable dog named Lucy!
 Lucy <3
We had a very interesting experience in the morning when my dog, Lexi escaped. Roby had to chase her through the neighborhood barefooted! Thankfully, he got her. :D
Mom, Lucy, Aunt Joanne, and I
 Breakfast! <3

 At the horse stables!
My new Fourth of July shirt. (Thanks, Aunt Joanne!)
I love everything about this picture! ;)

At Aunt Mary and Uncle Jimmy's house! They just got chickens!

We took a walk in the apple orchard! We were originally going to camp out there but it was too muddy.. sleeping in an apple orchard definitely sounds Anne Of Green Gables worthy!

We camped out there that night.. and had a great time! Roby and I couldn't stop laughing in the tent.
My adorable cousins Riley and Jenna!

Lighting up our sparklers in the fire.
On the way home, we stopped at my grandma's house!! Jack (their dog) chased Lexi all around the backyard. Lexi got really annoyed, so when Jack went inside Lexi found his bone and buried it in the backyard! She tried several different spots to make sure she found the perfect spot to bury his bone. She even made it look like there was never a hole there! She's an evil little thing, isn't she? ;)

On Thursday night when my dad got home from work, Roby, Dad, and I decided to make a video. My dad has this pig mask leftover from Halloween. We came up with a (slightly weird) storyline about 2 kids who are hungry and ask to stay at the Evil Pigman's house. Here is the video!
And just for fun, I decided to make a bloopers video! (Because we have lots of them!!)
What did you do for the 4th of July?
Do you ever make videos?
